during the insufficiency of light, blue or violet light takes over the green light and you are not able to see anything. For such cases, the Xtended Twilight Lens System lays stress on matching coatings to glass indices to attain best possible transmission of blue or violet spectrum keeping the color balanced light transmission intact. This when combined with computer generated optical design and lead free lenses produce a scope that gives you detailed view of low light scenes and greater luminance as compared to other scopes.
It comes in 8X-25X range and offers highest magnification at 10X still being the lightest. It has Ballistic Aiming System available with a selection of reticles . The range is well estimated using this Duplex reticle by bracketing the target and referencing the power selector ring to see the distance and then the power selector is set to a particular range to find out whether the target is in range or not. Apart from this, it also has finger adjustable windage and elevation dials with resettable baton dials marking the zero tip. To guarantee correct settings for precision the clicks of the dials are a bit haptic and audible.
Using the range estimating feature is very simple. Knowing the approximate size of a portion of the target, the shooter places that

object between the crosshair and the point of the thicker portion of the reticle. For instance, a mature whitetail buck is approximately sixteen inches from back to belly. So is the distance from the elbow to the finger tips on the average man, or the width of his chest. These are not exact, but will put you pretty close. Bracketing the sixteen inch target between the crosshair and the point of the thicker portion of the reticle by turning the power adjustment ring, you can read the approximate yardage to target, and compensate as needed. It is much simpler and easier than it sounds. Trying out this feature and comparing it to a laser rangefinder found it to be pretty accurate.
The Eyepiece Focus including removable Alumina rubber eyepiece guard is designed with extremely fast and quick 1.5 revolutions “lock to lock” helps you to make quick adjustments and target acquisition in almost no time. You can securely lock the eyepiece once the reticle focus is set. The VX-III comes without caps or eye guard ring. While hunting in low-light, the three illuminated models provide the required reticle-to-target contrast. To easily focus from any shooting position, the Leupold VX-III has side focus parallax adjustment as a standard on most of its models. The Leupold VX-3 carries a great visual technology together with other features like DiamondCoat 2 lens veneer, second generation waterproofing, blackened lens ends, twin bias spring erector system which makes each shot worth remembering.
