An honest to goodness dedicated muzzleloading riflescope, the new Nikon Omega 3-9x40 with the BDC-250 reticle was made to help shooters use the full accuracy potential of their muzzle-loaders. According to Nikon rifle scopes, Omega is the 1st riflescope to supply a bullet drop compensating reticle designed particularly for muzzleloading loads and ranges--taking the prediction out of where to hold on longer shots. The Nikon Omega was engineered to employ .50 caliber muzzleloading loads 65533;150 grains of Pyrodex ( pellets or powder ), 250-grain

bullets--and ranges ( out to 250-yards ).

The BDC-250 is a trajectory-compensating reticle designed and calibrated to provide fast, easy targeting points for numerous shot distances. This unique system integrates a sequence of tiny "ballistic circles"--each subtending two inches at one hundred yards--allowing an unfettered view of the target. At two hundred yards, the circles are four inches ; at 250 yards, they're five inches. The reticle is meant to be sighted-in at a hundred yards, with aiming-point circles at 150, two hundred, 225 and 250 yards.

At first designed and tested with Thompson - Center Arms' preferred Omega fifty caliber muzzle loaders, the Omega scope with Nikon BDC-250 reticle supplies the muzzleloading hunter with efficient and practical long range shooting accuracy--the sort of accuracy usually anticipated from a center fire rifle. "All of our rifles are test fired with Nikon scopes and I will say without any doubt there is not any scope as sturdy and wonderfully clear as a Nikon," asserts Gregg Ritz, president of Thompson / Center Arms.

"The new Omega scope with the BDC-250 reticle completely matches our Omega rifles and for the 1st time permits the shooter to confidently take shots out to 250 yards." With light transmission boosted to up to 92 % by way of Nikon's famous lens multicoating technology, the Omega rifle scope has the capacity to bring game into pointed, clear view--even in low-light hunting circumstances. A generous 25.2-8.4-foot field-of-view also makes getting on a prize animal a breeze. The Omega Riflescope is provided with actual, quarter -MOA click reticle adjustments and a full five-inches of eye relief for even the toughest kicking, magnum charge loads. Omega measures a compact 11.3-inches in length, and weighs 13.8 oz..

The Omega Muzzleloading scope is priced in the region of $249.95 for the Matte, $259.95 for the Silver and $269.95 for the REALTREE Hardwoods Green HD camouflage finish.
